I made a long entry last week only to find out that there was a blackout in California, making the LJ server wonky and stuff. Blah. It's offical - the Fates are against me. On a brighter note, I woke up later than usual today! Weee~! Cause our NSTP (that's National Training Service Program for the non-Pinoy folks) was moved.

Hmm... what else is new with my life...

Well, I think I might fail NatSci1 - Physics. The lessons are just the same with the ones I had back in high school but my professor... makes it more confusing. And the fact that he's not the most organized person in the world doesn't help. Now the ironic thing is, I actually love math now. It's challenging. Not the nosbleedyish type of challenge but a fun challenge. I'm actually looking forward to my math class tomorrow! Our current topic is about the different number systems - Chinese, Egyptian, Babylonians, etc.

Hmm. What else. I joined a filmmaking slash theater org in school... it's called the Amateur Creative Thespians of UP, otherwise known as ACT-UP. The people there are awesome, very artsy and all. Their projects are interesting, too... like crash courses on film editing, making AV presentations, stage plays, etc. Now there's finally something that will pull me out from bumming in front of the PC. xD

HA! I finally figured out how to do an LJ Cut. Yipee.

Now here's a meme for my dear f-list. Fill it out for me, prease? =3

I AM OFFICIALLY A COLLEGE STUDENT... and I'm proud to tell ya that I survived the first day! Hurrah, hurrah. A round of applause, if you don't mind. ;-)

The day started out really really really SUCKY. It was freaking hot in the lobby and the orientation was sooo boring. A total snooze-fest. There were even students who fell asleep. Thanks to Vera and Egg's text messages, I was awake throughout the entire program. (Another Hurrah for the fact that I can bring a cellphone to school now. Wee~)

Things started to look up during the afternoon orientation, when we were no longer mixed with the other divisions. It was purely a Mass Communications students' affair. It was Pirates of the Carribean inspired; complete with eyepatches, treasure maps, treasure chests made out of cardboard, and of course, a message in a mineral water bottle. Then our hosts were Calypso, Will, and Elizabeth.

I thought the dude in a costume (which was not so pirate-y, btw), who first got up on the platform, was "Will". Turns out, he was actually "Elizabeth." And hands down to the lady who played "Calypso". She was awesome. Her fake Jamaican accent sounded cool, but she stopped using it in the middle of the presentation cause she claimed it was tiring. Oh well.

I miss my friends.

But I'll survive.

I think.

I will officially be a college student in less than 48 hours. Words of encouragement, anyone? Words of advise, even?

Well, here's what I got so far.

Dad: Don't be a political activist.
Aside from its academic standards, my school is also known for having students who have a knack of staging protests against the government (it's a government-operated school, btw. See the irony?). I doubt that I'll ever become one of them because 1) I have better other things to do, and 2) and my idea of current events is celebrity gossip. Haha. I'm stupid, trivial, and selfish. Sue me.

Mom: Don't forget to take a shower.
Ahahaha. The school's known for its hobo laid-back nature as well. Don't worry, Ma. I will not neglect personal hygiene in exchange for social acceptance.

OUR PLUMBING SYSTEM IS DEAD. That means, we don't have water right now. Boohoo. The plumbers have been working on it for the past 8 hours cause there seems to be a huge problem with the pipes. As cheesy as it sounds, it's definitely true - you never miss the water until it's gone.

Happy Independence Day, mga kababayan! Technically, the independence day is tomorrow but the country is celebrating it today so we can enjoy a long uninterrupted weekend. My dad was really excited, he even bought a flag for the car! Luck's not on his side though cause he spent the entire day supervising the plumbers. Bwahaha.
